Cyber Resilience in the Indo-Pacific | 3rd - 4th October 2024
The highlight was a public panel discussion on Day 1, featuring:
Professor Dongyoun Cho, Senior Researcher, United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research 🌐
Dr. Dai Mochinaga, Associate Professor, Shibaura Institute of Technology 🎓
Dr. Gatra Priyandita, PhD, Senior Analyst, Australian Strategic Policy Institute 🇦🇺
Mr. Arindrajit Basu, PhD Candidate, Leiden University 📚
As we know, cyber threats are on the rise, and countries in the Indo-Pacific must bolster their defenses against espionage, cybercrime, and emerging AI-driven risks. 🤖💻 The workshop discussed the state of regional cybersecurity and the domestic measures four Asian countries—India, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea—have taken to enhance their cyber resilience. The experts covered strategies, institutions, and capabilities these critical countries have adopted to manage risks in cyberspace and what more they need to do.
From KAS PDA’s side, Andreas Klein and Moritz Fink joined the lively discussion. 💬
Stay tuned for our official report launch in mid-November on “Cyber Resilience in the Indo-Pacific” 📅, which will draw on these four country examples and provide insights into how leading nations are tackling cybersecurity challenges and strengthening cyber resilience. KAS PDA will continue to provide a critical platform for security dialogues between Europe and Asia. 🌍🤝
