Performance by the Hashira Choir, the Maaian Dance Group and the Kol shel k'fir quartet on 19.06.2022 in the Synagogue
As part of the European Capital of Culture Novi Sad 2022 program, Hashira Choir, Maaian Dance Group and Kol shel k’fir Quartet will perform the program “Peace Fortress”. Peace Fortress and Requiem focus on projects that address the civil wars in the region and contribute to reconciliation in the region given the trauma and consequences they cause. Novi Sad is being promoted as the "Fortress of Peace" through that program.
The Hashira chamber choir was founded in 1993 at the Jewish Community of Novi Sad, and has been a trademark of the city of Novi Sad for years when it comes to spiritual music.
The choir is known for its exceptional performance of various compositions by domestic and foreign composers in Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, Serbian, Latin and English.
In 2019, the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation helped publish the CD of the choir "Hashira" on the occasion of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of successful work of the choir and nurturing the cultural code for understanding the other and different.
