NATIONAL CENTER FOR POLICY RESEARCH
The National Center for Policy Research (NCPR) was Afghanistan's first Think Tank established in the post-2001 era. It was founded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in May 2003 at Kabul University. The NCPR consists of three departments. They consult and support the Afghan government in its decision-making processes.
For this purpose, the NCPR collects data for an effective planning process. Its research is meant to help in the formulation of appropriate political, social and economic reforms.
With the Catalogue of Studies (COS) the NCPR implements research projects that correspond with those political, social and economic problems faced by Afghanistan. The Afghan government may order 3 studies out of 90 research topics.

AFGHANISTAN CENTER AT KABUL UNIVERSITY (ACKU)
In partnership with the Afghanistan Center at Kabul University (ACKU) the KAS organizes the annual Afghanistan Studies Conference in Kabul.
Every year, more than 60 Afghan and international Afghanistan researchers from all academic disciplines take part in the two-day event. The Afghanistan Studies Conference brings together the current worldwide knowledge and research on Afghanistan and connects Afghanistan experts from Afghanistan, South and Central Asia, Europe, and North America.
The event in Kabul also intends to remind us of Afghanistan's heritage as a center of culture and science and to send a signal of hope for Afghanistan as a place for free research, science and debate.
