Political communication is an important issue, especially concerning gaining and mobilizing voters. The ability to communicate effectively the own goals and the programme to the people is of vital importance in the democratic process. Especially regarding the faster and faster dissemination of information in the digital age it is essential to tackle new possibilities and strategies for the dialogue with voters.
In this context KAS, under the auspices of its regional media programme sub-Saharan Africa, arranges a workshop in Dar es Salaam from 25 to 28 May 2012 with experts in the field of political communication. The event will concentrate on the exchange of experiences of German and African experts concerning the potential of political communication in the digital age. The focus of the presentations and speeches lies on the analysis of the current situation in KAS partner countries in sub-Saharan Africa as well as the limitations and possibilities of modern political communication in differently open societies.
