Specialist conference
Details
One of the most crucial challenges and tasks of Christian-democratic politics in the 21st century, is to keep the integrity of creation. In this context, the climate change poses special challenges to the work of a political foundation and to politics itself.
Especially in southern Africa, the change of climatic conditions shows impacts that have to be faced with the help of differentiated strategies. In order not to endanger the developmental potentials of Subsaharan countries, these strategies have to bring economic growth and climate protection together.
To discuss the challenges of climate change, that political foundations are facing, KAS is organizing an international symposium, which will convene from March 25 – 28 in Arusha. On the basis of a broad exchange of experiences between KAS representatives and external contributors, it will be the aim of this conference to develop a policy paper on climatic, environmental and energetic topics, which will contain recommendations and approaches towards a solution of these problems in Subsaharan African states. Moreover, a conversation on current developments in national programs and best practice models for southern African states will be on the conferences schedule as well.
Participation only on individual invitation.
