Policy Recommendations
- Smart City concepts require initiation on a local level, therefore local administration needs to be strengthened and decentralization expanded.
- Support and development tools for a Smart Economy: an improved QR-payment or Promptpay system would lift the ease and connection between customers and merchants to another level.
- Develop an Innovative-City-Index listing of Smart Cities in Thailand – so non-smart cities in Thailand can learn from their approach.
- Encourage public engagement so people can participate in the decision-making process and are motivated to become Smart Citizens.
- Amend laws to allow and authorize local administration to work on Smart City concepts.
