At the seminar, experts and stakeholders – with experience in smart city development in Thailand – discussed how to make smart city development policy more practical and effective. The topic has been part of KAS’ mission for 3 years now, and has outgrown its initial framework of how to turn a city “smart” and moved to the larger legal framework and constitutional context. Experts recommended that smart governance, better digitalization, and people participation are among the keys for success. A Smart decision making process should be introduced to enhance public participation in city development.
