In the early morning of February 6, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake of the century struck the Turkish-Syrian border region, followed only 9 hours later by another, equally strong quake. In Turkey alone, 10 provinces have been affected, with more than 20 million people living in the entire region. The full extent of the destruction cannot yet be foreseen, but the terrible images reaching us give us an idea of the worst. The number of dead and injured is increasing daily, and it is already confirmed that thousands have lost their lives in both countries.

At this difficult time, our thoughts are with the victims, family members and helpers who are doing everything they can to provide support on the ground. To the partners and friends of the Turkey Office, we wish Geçmiş Olsun Türkiye.
