Migration Project Newsletter - Issue 02

by Anisha Alinda
In our second edition of the KAS Migration Project Newsletter, we reflect on the strides made since February 2022 in addressing migration and forced displacement in Uganda and South Sudan. This initiative aims to understand and mitigate the various factors driving cross-border and internal movements.

In Uganda, we continued our collaborations with established partners such as the Media Challenge Initiative, GAIN-Uganda, and the African Youth Action Network. Our collective efforts have focused on enhancing institutional responses to the migration challenges faced by refugees and host communities. Our engagement extended to new partners, including the Center for Policy and Strategic Studies and the International Refugee Rights Initiative, fostering a comprehensive approach to migration issues.

In South Sudan, KAS facilitated peace-building workshops in collaboration with local organizations, fostering dialogue among community leaders to tackle ongoing instability. Additionally, we convened a reunion of our network of scholarship holders and alumni, enriching our outreach efforts in the region.

We express our gratitude to all partners supporting this vital project. We look forward to further collaboration as we strive for a sustainable and inclusive future for all.
