Workshop
Details
The Foundation for African Development (FAD) is working in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) to carry out civic education in communities and sensitise the public on issues of democracy and good governance. Through civic education, many individuals will be able to understand and appreciate the application of dialogue and networking within divergent political ideologies. There is growing need to promote Political Pluralism within the electorate to prepare for the 2011 general elections and hence FAD with the support of KAS is conducting workshops to pass on knowledge to leaders in various political parties.
The training programme is focussing on individuals who will have a multiplier effect in their respective communities. The target group for 2010 are political party representatives at the local levels. FAD is liaising with political party leaders to nominate candidates for the training workshops. These candidates are to be resident in the district where the trainings are carried out. The idea here is that each political party nominates the best candidates who will then extend the knowledge acquired from the training to grassroots people.
