January 2011: KAS initiates a dialogue with newly founded political parties in Ukraine on the occasion of seminars about fundamental values, programmatic basic principles and ideologies.
February 2011: Dr. Uwe Lehmann-Brauns, Vice President of the state parliament (Abgeordnetenhaus) of the state of Berlin, in a discussion about ethics and responsibility with civil servants in Odessa.
February 2011: As part of a study programme, a delegation of the political party UDAR travels to Berlin in order to forge links with KAS and with the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).
February 2011: Young Historians from different regions of Ukraine discuss conceptions of history and how to deal with Ukrainian past. It is the forth time that KAS and the Institute for Political Education organised the seminar sequence "Remembering for the Future".
March 2011: The second "Higher School of Politics" started with seminars about fundamental values and ideologies. KAS organises this seminar sequence in cooperation with the Center for Policial Studies and Analytics.
March 2011: Young municipal deputies of different political parties traveled to Berlin, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg in the context of a KAS information programme.
April 2011: Frank Spengler, Deputy Head of the Department on European and International Cooperation of KAS in Berlin, meets Yuliya Tymoshenko on the occasion of a working visit to Kiev.
April/May 2011: In the context of the programme "Europe in a Suitcase", five teams of German, Polish and Ukrainian young experts travel through Ukrainian regions and hold dialogue meetings about European integration.
June 2011: Representatives of the "Young Regions" coming from the east and south of Ukraine meet in Donetsk in order to debate about the role of Ukraine in the world concerning economy, culture and politics. KAS organises this kind of conference with "Young Regions" in Donetsk every year.
June 2011: Ukrainian journalists travel to Berlin in order to participate in a visiting programme about how to come to terms with a country's past. During their stay in Berlin, they attend Jerzy Buzek's speech on the State of Europe and take part in an international historical conference.
June 2011: The author of "Bloodlands" Tymothy Snyder holds a speech about Ukraine on the occasion of an international historians' conference organised by KAS in Berlin.
July 2011: The surroundings of legendary mountain Hoverla are the setting for seminars with young people about how to deal with the past.
September 2011: At the invitation of KAS, the President of the European People's Party (EPP) Wilfried Martens visits Ukraine.
September 2011: President of EPP Wilfried Martens holds a speech on EU-Ukraine relations which attracted several hundert listeners.
September 2011: KAS organises a meeting with the heads of all the different religions in Ukraine. Wilfried Martens, head of EPP, takes part in this conference.
October 2011: UDAR leader Vitaliy Klitschko travels to Thuringia and meets Prime Minister of Thuringia, Christine Lieberknecht.
October 2011: Experts from Poland, Germany and Ukraine travel to Dnipropetrovsk, Krivoj Rih and Zaporizhje where they hold dialogue meetings in the course of "Europe in a Suitcase".
December 2011: Experts from Germany, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, USA and Turkey come to Sevastopol to discuss energy and environment related problems of the Black Sea region.
December 2011: Young Ukrainian politicians and young professionals develop concepts for a Ukrainian energy policy on the occasion of seminars about climate, energy and environmental policy.
