Prof. Dr. Jürgen Rüttgers, former Federal Minister and former Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Wojciech Soczewica, Director General of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, visited Washington, D.C., and New York City in February. They met influential political personalities and experts from think tanks, government, embassies, and multilateral organizations, such as the U.S. Department of State, European Parliament Liaison Office, the American German Institute and Hudson Institute, Pew Research Center, the United Nations, the Center for Jewish Civilization at Georgetown University, the American Jewish Committee and the Leo Baeck Institute, the American Council on Germany. Topics included the rise of global antisemitism, the U.S. policy agenda addressing this challenge, and the role of the UN.
