With great dismay and sadness we had to learn about the death of our former Resident Representative, Dr Peter Köppinger. Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung mourns the departure of a man who shaped our work in Vietnam and in the region.
In the early 1990s his activities and dedication laid the foundation for the presence of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Vietnam. After the registration and opening of our first office in Hanoi in 1995 he subsequently served as the first Resident Representative until March 1999.
During his tenure, he promoted cooperation with state institutions such as the Ministry of Justice, which became lasting partnerships. Besides, rural development and capacity building were topics close to the heart of Dr. Köppinger.
In these dark hours, our thoughts are with his family. His work shaped Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Vietnam and Southeast Asia and he is deeply missed by his colleagues and friends.
