Out of 140 participants, 20 were trained in Benin on the 21st and 22nd September 2020 and 120 in Guinea on the 3rd, 10th and 17th September 2020. In Benin, all of the participants were from the Human Rights Commission (CBDH) and in Guinea, 33 members came from the Independent National Human Rights Institution (INIDH), 50 were human rights activists and 30 were police officers.
The seminar was organised in partnership with Social Watch Benin (SWB) as well as the Pan-African Institute of Education for Development (IPED) and Stat View International (SVI) in Guinea. The aim was to strengthen the capacities of various human rights actors and enable them to better assess the respect for human rights during the electoral period.
The experts who carried out the training offered 11 seminar modules that covered various aspects ranging from national and international electoral standards, the different tools for monitoring an electoral process to methods on how to prevent violence against women and young people.
