The event is an initiative of Togo's Ministry of Territorial Administration, with financial support from Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) through its Regional Program for Political Dialogue in West Africa.
For this second edition, which brought together all the religious denominations in Togo, the young people were keen to address the pressing issue of inter-religious marriage, sometimes the subject of controversy and a source of conflict or social distrust between religious communities.
The meeting lasted two days, with intellectual contributions and experience-sharing by experts and religious authorities from different denominations. The results of the proceedings will be presented at a later date in an official document: the Forum Proceedings.
From the discussions, it emerged that marriages between people of different faiths are possible, but under certain conditions, specified, according to the speakers, by the founding texts of their faith. Discussions were held in a good atmosphere, allowing delegates to deepen their views on the subject.
