Russia's invasion of Ukraine is stress-testing the security architecture in Europe: NATO has been rejuvenated and has brought the United States closer together with their European partners. At the same time, many European states and Germany in particular, have reassessed their national security and defense policies.
Future developments are very difficult to predict due to the dynamic conflict situation. Nevertheless, we want to try and discuss from three perspectives - the U.S., the German, and the Global South - how the war in Ukraine is viewed from different parts of the world, how European security policy is changing, and how the relationship with Russia can be shaped in a long-term perspective.
