Mid-September 2014 an international conference on EU structural funds policies was organized by the University of the Peloponnese, the Greek Politics Specialist Group as well as the Greek University Association for European Studies (EPEES). The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Greece supported the conference by inviting international experts on the topic to Athens.

The aim of the experts' meeting was to discuss the influence and impact of EU structural funds in Greece between 1981 and 2013. Political and administrative actors of the regions of Greece as well as academics who conducted research in relevant academic fields, e.g. European Studies, Political Science and Economics, presented their recent findings on the topic.

Invited by KAS Greece, experts from Poland, Italy and Germany shared their countryspecific experiences and analysis on the topic. The international experts taking part in the conference had a great opportunity to exchange views with their Greek colleagues and to reach common conclusions on how a better implementation of EU structural funds programs could be conceived for the future.
