Event
Details
During the event of the Journalists Academy of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS in German), Brazilian and German journalists will jointly discover and work on many topics concerning the cultural, social and political character of the "Cidade Maravilhosa“ (Wonderful city). They will get to know the city, investigate topics and conceptualize articles in pairs.
During this KAS program, aiming at the promotion of young journalists, the participants will receive training in data-driven-journalism by the supervisors of the Journalists academy.
Long time KAS-associate and experienced freelance journalist Astrid Csuraji will head the group of instructors.
The objective of the JONA event is to coin personal experiences with fact-based evidence and hence create data-driven articles. In this realm, teams of two will be formed, respectively of a Brazilian and German participant. Each pair will be evaluating with one specific aspect of Rio’s urban jungle.
In addition to the seminar, the concept of “When journalists meet” will be able to generate a German-Brazilian view on this Alpha city, helping to comprehend Rio through both countries’ lenses.
This one-time opportunity will give not only the journalists the possibility to discover a different culture, but also to enhance their professional skills, thus contributing to their upcoming careers.
