According to the preliminary results, the old political order has prevailed: Bola Tinubu from the All Progressives Congress (APC), the previous ruling party, is the new president-elect of Africa's most populous and economically powerful country. While more parties are represented in the national assembly, the two established parties- the APC as well as the biggest opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – prevailed in the national as well as state elections. Meanwhile, young people are increasingly frustrated and disappointed by Nigerian politics. Regarding the electoral process, the elections were largely conducted as planned, but operational errors and a lack of transparency have weakened confidence in the electoral process and the electoral authority INEC.
