During extensive dialogues with foreign and security experts, Indian MPs and representatives of the Indian civic society, the delegates, amongst them Dr. Matthias Rößler, Dr. Thomas Kunze, Head of the KAS Regional Office in Central Asia, Dr. Rafik Sayfulin and Rustam Makhmudow, both political experts from Uzbekistan, explored the opportunities and challenges of a deeper Indo-German as well as international relationship in the areas of foreign and security policy, cultural policy and educational exchange.
The dialogues focused on the global terrorism which harbors cross-border challenges and security risks and which therefore needs an international solution. The expansion of the IS in the Middle East and the recruitment of terrorists from Western countries are common challenges, which can only be solved in a mutual dialogue. During discussions with foreign and security experts and representatives of the civic society it became clear that India and Germany are declared partners and following the strategy of civic reconstruction through infrastructure, education and development assistance.
Foundation and goal of the Indo-German Dialogue is a responsible role of both countries in the context of global challenges like terrorism, energy security and sustainable economic growth.
Furthermore, the model of the dual education system and cooperation in the areas of agriculture and culture were discussed in numerous talks.
In Jaipur, the delegation met several MP´s and members of the Rajya Sabha and discussed the future direction of Indo-German relations on a local level. In the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Mahindra World City, the delegation was able to get a deeper insight into the advantages of a SEZ, especially for foreign investors. During expert discussions on Vocational Training, the investment climate in India and current political challenges with the speaker of the Legislative Assembly in Rajasthan, Kailash Chandra Meghwal, the Minister of Agriculture in Rajasthan, Prabhu Lal Saini and other representatives, amongst others, the delegation could gain more insight into several topics.
