The ACFJ is supported by the KAS Media Programme Asia (based in Singapore). In August, the founding members of the SAJ met for the first time on the occasion of the "6th Forum Emerging Leaders in Asian Journalism". The conference was held in Beijing in cooperation with the "Beijing Foreign Studies Univeristy" (BFSU), ACFJ and China Daily. The participants elected Edia Utama, editor of the Indonesian news agency Antara, as founding president of the SAJ.
