Details
According to the tradition, the event has both a working and festive character, containing several activities in just one day. In the first part, after the ceremonial addresses a panel discussion will be held on the topic: "The European Union as a challenge and the challenges of the EU: Europe 74 years since the Schuman Declaration".
Political representatives and MPs from the new Parliamentary composition will discuss the current situation in the European Union with a focus on the enlargement and the Macedonian perspectives in that context. At the panel discussion as participants are expected: high level officials, the diplomatic corps, the academic community, representatives of civil society organizations, students and other stakeholders.
An opening address as a key note speaker in the frame of the event will give Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, President of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The panel discussion will be attended by the following speakers:

The event will be opened by Mileva Gjurovska, President of the European Movement, Daniel Braun, Official Representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Ben Nupnau, Deputy Head of EU Delegation.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Katerina Sinadinovska, Editor of the TV Magazine “Agenda 35”.
The second part of the event will be organized as a Youth Club within which it will be held Oratory Competition and Youth Debate on the topic “Young people and democratic values: Do we want, can we be and how to be an active citizen?” with participation of students from different universities in the country, as well as EU Knowledge Quiz, with participation of high school students from the high schools in City of Skopje.
At this event, the plaque for European Person of the Year 2023 will be awarded to the opera artist Blagoj Nacoski. This plaque the European Movement traditionally is awarding for more than 20 years to people who promote the European values in North Macedonia, but also to people who promote the country in Europe and the world.
The working languages of the event are Macedonian, Albanian, English and German (with simultaneous interpretation provided).
Celebration of Europe Day – 9 May will be held on 04 June (Tuesday) starting at 11.00 in Ragusa Rooftop (Parking garage "26 July", St. Cyril and Methodius No. 1).
