Dr. Khalil Shikaki, Director of PSR, highlighted three significant developments within the public perception: (1) The results show a significant decline in the support of stabbing attacks in the Palestinian population, especially in the West Bank over the last 6 months. (2) Public support for the so called French Initiative was relatively high in the light of general frustration over diplomatic efforts. However, only 29% of the people questioned expect the Initiative to be successful. (3) The findings of the second quarter poll indicate a slight shift in the domestic balance of power in favor of Fatah.
