SALMA Dialogue and KAS ADELA discuss the present of Public Health and its future with Innovation
The event, held in Cadenabbia, Italy, hosted 25 high-level public health experts, international physicians, and high-level politicians and business leaders in the field of technological innovation in health and medicine from Latin America, Africa and Europe.
"In this context, the SALMA Dialogue has focused on seeking solutions and improving the conditions of access to health care, in order to overcome the injustices observed in this area in developing countries, particularly in Africa and Latin America," remarked Winfried Weck, director of the regional program Alliances for Democracy and Development with Latin America (ADELA) and the Panama office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
Over the course of eight sessions spread over three days, the experts convened openly discussed a wide range of topics, among them: the global health system after Covid-19; the situation of health care accessibility policies; solutions to inequalities in access to health care; digitalization of health at the service of equity and patients; analysis of good practices for better access to health care; and supra-regional cooperation between Latin America and Africa to refine common strategies and synergies towards better access to health care.
This Conference is given under the framework of the SALMA Dialogues "Strategic Alliances: Latin America Meeting Africa", a project founded in 2019 thanks to the strategic alliance between the KAS ADELA Regional Program based in Panama and SALMA Dialogue based in Tunisia. "The objective of this initiative is to strengthen ties between the two southern continents, boost relations between the participating countries and create synergies between the stakeholders of this program," added Amina Magouri, executive director of SALMA Dialogue.
