The Institute for Justice and Reconciliation’s (IJR) South African Reconciliation Barometer (SARB) is the longest running public opinion survey that gauges public sentiment on reconciliation and social cohesion in South Africa. Since 2003, the IJR has conducted 15 rounds of the survey, which makes it an essential resource for those who seek to understand how ordinary South Africans are adapting in a post-apartheid South Africa. On the 20th of September, the Institute has made this data publicly available for the first time, through the launch of a free online analysis tool. The IJR, with the generous support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), successfully hosted this launch, which included an interactive training session at the Cape Town Science Centre’s multi-media room.
