Specialist conference
Details
The conference will take place on the 12th and 13th October 2016 in Mwanza and shall involve three countries – Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Stakeholders include the Vice President’s Office, the East African Community, Regional Bodies responsible for the Lake, CSOs and Local Authorities around Lake Victoria.
The long term goal includes linking regional bodies (LVBC, LVFO, LVEMP) that consist of experts and local policy makers, who advise, control and regulate everyone dealing with or around the lake, with representatives from the economy, CSOs and other stakeholders from the three countries. Additionally the project strives to create awareness at the local and national level that the riparian countries can meet the challenges of climate change, pollution and the sustainable exploitation of natural resources on Lake Victoria only if they work together.
Participation is by invitation only. For more information please contact stefanie.brinkel@kas.de.
