Political dialog program with CDU member of parliament Thomas Bareiß
Within the framework of the KAS Türkiye political dialogue program, Thomas Bareiß, a member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party of the German Federal Parliament, visited Türkiye from October 21-25 and held official meetings in Ankara and Istanbul. As the Vice President of the German-Turkish Parliamentary Group, MP Bareiß held consultations on political and diplomatic issues important to both countries, as well as on economic cooperation.
During his meetings in Türkiye, MP Bareiß met with the President's Foreign Policy and Security Chief Advisor Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan, Vice President of the AK Party Vice Chairman and MP of Istanbul Zafer Sırakaya, Ambassador Thomas Ossowski of the European Union Delegation to Türkiye, Ambassador Sibylle Katharina Sorg of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ankara, Consul General Dr. Regine Grienberger, Deputy Chairman of the İYİ Party Ambassador(R) Ahmet Kâmil Erozan, Istanbul MP of the DEVA Party Mustafa Yeneroğlu, and other important counterparts.
Allocating significant time in his program to representatives of the German-Turkish business community, Bareiß met with representatives of the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pınar Ersoy and Burkhardt Hellemann, and the Turkish representative of the Federal Republic of Germany's Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Agency (GTAI), Katrin Pasvantis, to exchange views on the commercial relations, opportunities, and issues between the two countries.
