Encouraging women to an active civic position, to stand up in defense of peace, and to foster the resolution of conflicts is one of the main goals of the international conference “Empowering women in conflict: Ecumenical engagement for peace and justice.” It was organized from 28 to 31 August by the UNWLA Lectureship in Women’s Studies (supported by the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America) and the European Society of Women in Theological Research.
