The project’s core experts have underscored the perceptions of regional actors regarding the EU’s involvement in the Indo-Pacific. Additionally, senior researchers have provided insights into the understanding of relevant powers of the EU’s Indo-Pacific Strategy within the context of a dynamic global landscape. Discussions have also covered the risks and opportunities for the EU as it seeks to balance its strategic interests with those of other major powers in the region.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Florian Feyerabend, Resident Representative of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam, highlighted that since 2021, significant changes have taken place in both Europe and the Indo-Pacific, particularly in security policy and economics. He emphasized that the Indo-Pacific region has become increasingly strategic for the EU due to its growing economic, demographic, and political influence. This region has emerged as a center of gravity in shaping the global order and addressing global challenges.

As a German Political Foundation, we are honored to collaborate with our long-term partner, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, a pioneer in international relations studies, to foster in-depth research and discussion on the EU’s foreign and security strategy.
