Encouraging women's leadership and participation in politics and democratic culture building

This panel discussion aims to stimulate discussion on the need to promote women's leadership and women's participation in politics and democracy.

Marion Walsmann, Member of the European Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Joint Parliamentary Committee of the EU Delegation to North Macedonia, will take part in the panel discussion with her opening remarks.

The panel discussion will be attended by following speakers:

Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, Member of Assembly and President of the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men

Danela Arsovska, Mayor of the City of Skopje

Zaklina Peshevska, Member of Parliament

Monika Zajkova, Member of Assembly and member of the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men

Vlora Rechica, Researcher and Head of the Centre for Parliamentary Support and Democratization at the Institute for Democracy (IDSCS)

The event will be opened by Daniel Braun, Official representative of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Eleftheria Katsi, Communications and Press Officer at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies and H.E. Anke Holstein, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in North Macedonia.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Marija Risteska, Executive Director at Centre for Research and Policy Making.

After the panel discussion, a cocktail party will be organised for the attendees.

The working languages ​​of the event are Macedonian, Albanian, English and German (with simultaneous interpretation provided).
