The second AWPC E-Meet will be taking place on July 23rd, focusing on "Promoting Equality Through Gender-Sensitive Policies and Budgets." This event is an excellent opportunity for AWPC members to learn, exchange ideas, and collaborate on advancing gender equality through informed policies and budgeting practices. We are honored to be joined by Dato’ Ong Bee Leng, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Women's Development Corporation, Malaysia. Dato’ Ong will share her extensive expertise and insights on the subject as the main speaker.

Details

Since the establishment of the AWPC Caucus, KAS has been holding annual meetings where parliamentarians come together to exchange and learn from each other on various policy issues impacting women's rights in Asia. In 2023, the AWPC was hosted in cooperation with the Parliament of Sri Lanka, focusing on the new National Gender Policy, which was initiated after an AWPC online meeting. During the 2023 AWPC Meeting, there was a call for more regular interactions and experience sharing among the network members along with the AWPC annual meeting.

As a result, KAS has been organizing regular online meetings for its AWPC network members to interact, exchange, and reinforce synergies for the achievement of gender equality in the region.
