Accommodating a resourceful and extended programme this time around, One World Romania will be back in Bucharest, between March 11th and 17th. In 2013, the sixth edition of the festival brings together 50 new documentary films, most of them screened for the first time in Romania.
The programme is articulated around the concept of hatred in all its manifestations and the repercussions it implies in society. The films will be split into several thematic sections, with a few of the subjects addressed by the selection in 2013 being: Hate is Bad for your Health, Dis/Abilities, Propaganda Lectures, Before the Law, Everyday Rebellions, Youth: Handle with Care and three Specials.
This year the festival is also focused on issues regarding teenagers and young adults and, on this matter, we will organize matinees for high school students, educational workshops and a surprise jury!
In addition to all this, the 6th edition of One World Romania is also about debates, screenings in unconventional spaces, a retrospective dedicated to the legendary Danish director Jon Bang Carlsen, a workshop on the production of documentary film and premieres of Romanian documentaries.
The locations of the festival are: Eforie Cinematheque, Union Cinematheque, Corso Cinema, the Horia Bernea Studio at the Romanian Peasant Museum and the French Institute’s Elvira Popescu Cinema.
The official opening of the festival will take place on Monday, March 11th, at Patria Cinema.
