Especially teachers and young people should be involved in the constitutional making process. They are not only the next generation and thus both voters and potential decision makers of tomorrow but also have the important role of multipliers who spread new information to their homes and communities. The aim of the event was therefore to offer them an interactive platform for information and the exchange of ideas and views.

On the first day about 200 teachers had an very active discussion with experts, on the second day 250 secondary and university students had, free from the supervision of their teachers the opportunity to discuss, express their opinions and ask questions. Ally Saleh, member of the Constitutional Review Commission supported the event on both days and was able to present in a professional and unbiased manner the most important contents of the second draft of the Constitution and to provide explanatory remarks. In a relaxed atmosphere a open discussion could take place and many questions and ambiguities could be clarified.

In a round of evaluation it became clear that all participants found the event most useful and confirmed to have received vital information regarding the new Constitution. Requests for an intensification of cooperation and measures to strengthen the CETA-leadership in Zanzibar were expressed.
