Details
The main goal of the Academy is to strengthen the knowledge and skills of politically engaged young people and motivate their future participation in policy-making at the local and national level.
The academy will be implemented through educational modules and a mentoring program over the course of the year 2023.
Through several educational modules, participants will have the opportunity to acquire advanced knowledge in the area of the constitutional and political system of the state and at all levels of government, as well as knowledge regarding local self-government and public administration, the economic foundations of Macedonian society, the position of the state in the context of international relations, membership in international organizations and the principles of the European Union. Knowledge and skills are also provided in the area of public speaking, dealing with media, business communication and relations with different target groups, public policy making, project management and innovations.
In the second part of the academy, participants will learn skills of effective and successful leaders through mentoring by the most prominent political representatives of VMRO-DPMNE, they will also strengthen their negotiation and communications skills as well as they will develop their policy-making skills. Furthermore, they will get the opportunity to expand their network of contacts. For the best and most dedicated participants, there is the possibility to receive support through a scholarship.
The Political Academy will be attended by about 30 members or sympathizers of VMRO-DPMNE, aged 22 to 35.
In addition to KAS, the modules of the Political Academy are supported by other VMRO-DPMNE partners such as IFES, which is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI).
During the official opening of the Political Academy 2023 on 31 March, Daniel Braun, Official Representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office in Skopje, Hristijan Mickoski, President of VMRO-DPMNE and Stefan Andonovski, Head of PIAC "Ljubisha Georgievski, will address the participants.
