The event aimed to enhance the capacities of the MPs through training focused on public communication, transparency, and openness—key elements for effective communication with citizens and strengthening parliamentary democracy.

As part of its commitment to promote democratic processes, KAS consistently supports political representatives in improving their skills in accountability, transparency, and policy-making to address the challenges with which the parliamentary democracies are facing nowadays.

The training covered a wide range of topics, including:

Parliamentary procedures and the role of MPs in the parliamentary majority, with an emphasis on effective functioning within the legislative branch.

Effective public relations, including the development and delivery of key communication messages, as well as strategies for successful media appearances, such as interviews and public debates.

Strategies for digital communication, essential in today's digital society where social media platforms play a significant role in political communication.

The event featured addresses by Daniel Braun, Official representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation; Hristijan Mickoski, President of VMRO-DPMNE and President of the Government; and Nikola Micevski, Coordinator of the parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE and the Coalition. In their remarks, they emphasized the importance of the Parliament as the highest representative body, the role of the MPs in democratic processes, and the necessity of continuously enhancing of their capacities.

The training sessions were conducted by experts in public relations and political communication, who shared their knowledge and experiences through interactive sessions with the participants.

This initiative represents the continuation of a long-standing successful cooperation between KAS and the parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE and the Coalition, which began in 2020. Each year, similar training sessions are organized to continuously improve the skills of MPs and create better conditions for the effective functioning of parliamentary democracy.
