The Stakeholder Meeting, held on January 31, 2025 in Côte d'Ivoire, marked an important milestone in the launch of the activities planned for the year 2025. This event, which focused on dialogue and sharing, brought together several stakeholders involved in the themes of elections and human rights.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the keynote speech given by Ms. Namizata Sangaré, President of the National Human Rights Council of Côte d'Ivoire (CNDH-CI). Her speech, which focused on the theme “Elections and Human Rights”, provided relevant insight into the importance of respect for democratic principles and fundamental freedoms in the electoral process. We would like to thank Ms. Sangaré for her valuable contribution and her commitment to human rights in Côte d'Ivoire.
In addition, the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) enriched this exchange by offering around fifty books on the regulatory framework for elections in Côte d'Ivoire. These documents were distributed to participants to enable them to better understand the texts governing the electoral process in the country. We express our deep gratitude to the CEI for this gesture, which contributes to a better understanding and the promotion of transparent and inclusive elections.
This Stakeholder Meeting is thus the first milestone of the activities planned for 2025 in Côte d'Ivoire. It provided a framework conducive to exchanges and reflection on the country's electoral and democratic challenges, while strengthening the links between the key actors involved in these issues.
We are eager to continue this momentum and to implement the various initiatives that will contribute to the consolidation of peace, democracy and human rights in Côte d'Ivoire during the course of this year.
